The classic otome (girls’) adventure series Harukanaru Toki no Naka de (Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time) that has spawned various drama CDs, manga, and anime, is holding an event at Ikebukuro’s Namja Town. The event started on January 20 and will be held until March 20, 2017.
The protagonist of the story is transferred to an alternate ancient Kyoto where she has to interact with the beautiful men she meets there. We couldn’t miss the opportunity to get a taste of that world, so we joined the event! It was such a fun experience, and we want to share it with you!
‘Harukanaru Toki no Naka de‘ Food Menu
First, let us introduce the food menu! Every item is related to the original game, including the meals that appear in the story and the characters’ favorite food. Not only do the meals look gorgeous and beautiful, but they are, of course, delicious! One of the items, ‘Benkei Otesei Yakuzen Gayu’ (Benkei’s homemade Chinese Medicinal Rice Porridge) comes with seasoning wrapped in paper, which almost looks like Benkei’s powdered medicine. The mild porridge warms both our bodies and souls.
‘Atsumori no Kanaderu Aoba no Fue Nama Harumaki’ (Atsumori’s Flute ‘Green Leaf’ Spring Roll) comes with a sesame sauce, so even people who are not fans of spicy food can enjoy them. Also, if you order the ‘Seiei Buntai Taichou to Oni no Shuryou no Hagukumu Yuujou Plate’ (The Plate of Friendship between the Elite Unit Commander and the Head Demon), you can enjoy the crispy croquette and the chewy sweet potato rice all at once!
For dessert, you can order ‘Hakuryuu mo Daimanzoku♪ Yuzuru Tokusei Hachimitsu Pudding Parfait’ (Hakuryuu Loves it! Yuzuru’s Special Honey Pudding Parfait) and enjoy the wonderful match of soft pudding and honey.
The set menu titled ‘Shuuhei no 3 Shoku Siberia & Kohaku Tokusei Coffee (Shuuhei’s 3-Colored Siberia Cake & Kohaku’s Special Coffee)’ comes with three Siberia cakes, each filled with different flavors of soft azuki-bean jelly (white bean jam, chestnut, mugwort) and a cup of coffee. ‘Daremoga Hikareru Miwaku no Dessert, Rondo Jelly (The Bewitching Dessert Loved by Everyone: Rondo’s Jelly)’ is a filling dessert of seven different-flavored jellies, fruits, and sweets.
All the beverages come with a small cake, including ‘Hanabana Sakihokoru Darius Tei no Fruit Tea’ (Fruit Tea served at the Flower-Blooming Mansion of Darius) which comes with a cream puff, so you can enjoy them with your tea. All the menu items come with an original bromide card, and for some of the items, you even get to choose your favorite card!
On top of this, to commemorate the release of the new game for PS Vita, Harukanaru Toki no Nakade 3: Ultimate (Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time 3 Ultimate), three additional menu items will be sold from February 24!
Until March 20, there will be three new attractions. The first attraction is a rally event titled Miko no Otsutome Junkai Rally (The Priestess’ Duty: Patrol Rally) in which you tour around Namja Town. You first choose at the reception desk which route you want to take out of the two routes, Kokuryuu no Miko (Priestess of the Black Dragon) or Hakuryuu no Miko (Priestess of the White Dragon). Then, you go to the places that the written order tells you to get stamps of vengeful spirits and the four gods. There are several types of instructions, and depending on the route you take, you can receive a special acrylic character stand or a clear bookmark. The designs of the stamps are finely detailed, and although they are pictures of vengeful spirits, they have a charm that makes you want to collect them all!
The other two new attractions will be game booths. The first is titled Gentou-za Kinsei Kaiten-shiki Omikuji (Rotating Fortune Paper Made by the Gentou Guild) which is built as a gaming house planned by the Toudou Konzern. The other booth is Liz-Sensei no Kenjutsu Keiko (Mr. Liz’s Fencing Lesson) where the player learns how to use the technique ‘Hana Tachi’ taught by Liz-sensei.
At the Kaiten-shiki Omikuji, you pick a fortune paper from a machine shaped like a gear wheel, and you receive a gift according to your fortune. The booth is set in a room with a fantasy theme, and it almost feels like you are in a dream world!
At the Kenjutsu Keiko, you use the Hakuryuu no Ken (Sword of White Dragon), just like the one in the story, and you cut the falling petals in the screen with the sword as if you were a priestess! You receive a gift at the end based on your record!
There are many limited-edition goods, including Ai no Kotonoha iri Chocolate (Chocolate with Words of Love) for Valentine’s Day, stainless steel character bottles, acrylic stands, souvenir sets, and much more!
The illustrations for these goods were drawn by Kazuo Funaki, who illustrated the official mini-characters for the original game. The characters have cute cat ears! Each character is holding an item related to Namja Town. They are so adorable! Just so you know, some of items which have already sold out are being re-ordered now!
The event space also displays original copies of the illustrations made by Tooko Mizuno, who has done the character design. It’s an amazing chance to look at the beautiful pictures up close!
The Namja Town’s fantastic event that features the world of Harukanaru Toki no Naka de will be held until March 20, 2017.
