The festival of Anime-holic, by Anime-holic, for Anime-holic, is AnimeJapan.
Last year 120,000 people joined this festival, and thanks to them, it was a huge success.
This coming March, AnimeJapan will be held in Tokyo (Big Sight) for 2 days.
There is many things to see at the festival, so we will recommend 4 ways to enjoy AnimeJapan 2016!
1. Don’t miss the Stage Events!
The Stage Events are kind of the main events of AnimeJapan.
There will be a red stage, a green stage, a blue stage, and in addition to these stages an ‘open’ stage which is opened to the public for free.
On each of those stages will various programs will be performed, such as an introduction of the latest anime, talk shows with creators and voice actors, concerts etc.
We, manga.tokyo, recommend the following evnts.
RED: Zutto maekara sukideshita’ Pre-theatrical event(23rd Apr. released)
You can enjoy talk shows and concerts of star-studded voice actors!
GREEN: New series of ‘D.Gray-man’ Special Stage
You can enjoy talk shows of voice actors and get latest information of this anime!
BLUE: ‘GARO’ started airing this Jan., if you want more detailed information, go to the BLUE stage!
RED: ‘Bungo-Stray-Dogs’ will air from April.
It is a very popular anime, and more than 1.8 million copies of the original manga series have been printed!
GREEN: We reccomend the ‘Kiznaiver’ talk show and the ‘Haikyu!!’ special stage.
BLUE: We reccomend ‘Dimension W’ on Blue stage. This anime started airing in January and we are really interested in it.
OPEN Stage will present some unique events, releases of the upcoming animes, talk-shows, Aniraji Award, public auction of voice actors and many more!
2. Enjoy the cosplayers world!
Cosplay is short for ‘cosutume play’ in which people dress up as their favorite anime characters.
AnimeJapan is well known as the World for Cosplayers and in 2015, many people attended it.
This year you can enjoy the ‘Bungo-Stray-Dogs’- official setting (for example, situational setting or other props), so you can get into real characters. Other animes may have official settings, too!
3. If you get hungry, go to the FOOD PARK!
Looking around stages and cosplayers may make you hungry.
Then, we reccomend that you go to the Food Park which is created for the first time in history of AnimeJapan.
You can get collaboration foods with ‘Osomatsu-San’, ‘Silver Spoon’ and other famous animes. Don’t forget, you eat with your eyes first! 😉
4. Original Souvenirs
Before leaving AnimeJapan, don’t miss to buy souvenirs.
Many items are limited-collaboration items from popular animes and Japanese traditional crafts.
All of these anime goods are limited-items only especially for AnimeJapan 2016.
Last year’s limited items were: ‘Girls und Panzer’ and Kasamayaki (a style of Japanese pottery made in Kasama, Ibaraki Prefecture), ‘Char’s zaku’ (Gundam) and Daruma (Japanese traditional tumbler doll).
Now you are ready to enjoy AnimeJapan 2016, right?
There are so many stage shows and exhibitions that you may worry about where you should look around and go first.
Please check the web site below in advance. And you should purchase an advance admission ticket with included stage-view lottery!
