The popular bicycle road racing manga Yowamushi Pedal has already sold 15 million copies! It was only natural to get a limited-time themed cafe on Yowamushi Pedal. It opened in a café named The Guest, on the 7th floor of Ikebukuro Parco.
Manga.Tokyo never misses a chance to check out themed cafes. Here is our report!
The atmosphere of the cafe
The picture above is a panorama photo taken with an iPhone. The café was bigger than I thought. You can see some characters in chibi versions, dressed as waiters!
The entrance of the café. There is a cashier, and you can use a credit card.
In front of the entrance. There are a lot of dorayakis in the display case!
*A dorayaki is a Japanese traditional sweet: two pancakes with red been paste between them. A certain anime character also loves them. You can get them in convenience stores in Japan.
The other side of the café is an anime shop. A lot of products are available there.
The walls are filled with character tapestries.
Inside the café. The cafe was open only for the media on that day, so the tables were arranged a little bit differently. The anime will be projected onto the wall, so it will be a great opportunity to talk about the anime.
One of the limited edition coasters served with drinks. The images on the coasters are random, so order a lot of drinks if you want to get them all!
There are a lot of products for sale, so check them out!
Directions to the Cafe
Ikebukuro Station has many lines, so it’s a bit complicated to get there.
Here are the directions from JR:
・At the JR Ikebukuro Stn exit use the North gate
*You will see a fast food restaurant named Lotteria at the North gate.
・Once you turn right and go straight for 100m, you will see a set of tall stairs. Take a left turn.
*There is a statue called Ikefukurou there, so you could ask someone where Ikefukurou is if you get lost.
・When you go straight, take the elevator in Parco’s underground entrance, and go up to the 7th floor.
・You will see Yowamushi Pedal Café as soon as you step out of the elevator!!
・ There is an iPad that serves as a guide for the café located in front of the elevator. You may want to check that out too.
・You can use free Wi-Fi in Ikebukuro Parco. There are a lot of restaurants and stores there as well, so you won’t get bored easily.

You will get a free sticker like these. The characters will change as shown below:

Ikebukuro has many entertaining places to go to such as the main store of Animate and Otome Street, so you won’t get bored even if you stay in Ikebukuro all day.
