Recently, there are so many ‘music’ themed anime which features idols. That’s why Anime!Anime! has conducted a survey titled ‘Which 2D Female Idol Unit Do You Think Shines The Most?’
Following a previous poll on Twitter, approximately 20 male and female idols and groups were selected. The Anime!Anime! survey took place from 15 to 19 February 2017. You can also check the ‘Male idol version!’
Out of the 883 survey respondents, the male to female ratio was almost equal, with slightly more women responding. As for age, young participants accounted for the majority of votes with more than 40% being in their 10’s and more than 30% being in their 20’s.
1st place: ‘Love Live!’ (μ’s) was almost unanimous
First place went to μ’s from Love Live! which was so popular that it managed to rake in 30% of the votes and ranked first place among both men and women. μ’s is beloved by both sexes.
Second place went to Walküre from Macross Δ, which gathered more than 10% of the votes. Walküre seemed to be a little more popular among women and ranked fourth place among men and second place among women. Third place went to 765 PRO ALLSTARS from THE [email protected], the biggest unit out of top 3 which consists of all the idols who belong to 765 Production. The group was ranked second place among men and fourth place among women.
Following Love Live!, the other highly-ranked idols were from anime which were released after 2010, except for the sixth place Kirari Tsukishima from Kirarin☆Revolution which aired on TV in 2006. Although most of the top spots were taken by unit or groups, there were some individuals as well: Sheryl Nome (fifth place), Kirari Tsukishima (sixth place), and Ranka Lee (seventh place) were also ranked in the top 10.
