Yurika Kubo Christmas Event 2016 was held by voice actor Yurika Kubo at EX THEATER ROPPONGI in Roppongi, Tokyo, on December 25, 2016.
Although this event was held on Christmas Day, Kubo, who considers herself an indoor person, kept making negative comments about Christmas from the beginning. She was surrounded by lots of her fans and smiled when the Christmas songs were played. Her stage was designed like a living room decorated for Christmas and Kubo herself was wearing a black jersey and relaxed as if she were at home. The eccentric Kubo and Ten no Koe comedian Nori Otenki performed amazing acts that made the event a success.
In this event, Kubo joined a punishment game and drew an illustration as an artist. In addition, she took selfies with a Polaroid camera with themes from this year. She reflected on the memories she has made this year and posed differently for each memory. Those photos were given as prizes to fans who won a quiz about their Kubo knowledge and their inspirations.
The most well received part of the event was the karaoke with Kubo, where she sang songs to the audience. She chose songs from a list voted by the fans. The list included nostalgic idol songs.
In the live part, Kubo showed her solo artist side by singing the songs Happy Cuty My Snow Man and Arigatou no Jikan from her 3rd single CD, Arigatou no Jikan. The CD was released on December 7, 2016. At the end of her talk, she wholeheartedly thanked her fans for their support and told them that she always reads their touching letters.
Furthermore, there was a stir among the fans when she announced that she will soon release her first album.
Kubo mentioned that she wanted to sing and talk more in the event to communicate with her fans. At the end, Kubo and the fans exchanging ‘Thank you!’ to each other and she closed the event by saying ‘Merry Christmas!’ with everyone.
