Kyoto City has appointed Uchouten Kazoku (The Eccentric Family) as the new Kyoto Special Goodwill Ambassadors to promote the tourism initiation called Improvement of Kyoto Brand and Tourism Promotion. The Eccentric Family is an anime based on a novel by Tomihiko Morimi. It depicts the lives of various supernatural families such as tanuki and tengu, who have taken the form of humans and live among normal people in Kyoto.
On January 12, a gathering was held at the World Heritage site Shimogamo Shrine. Kyoto city mayor Daisaku Kadokawa gave an appointment certificate to the anime producer Kenji Horikawa. They also released the illustration and original logo mark of the inauguration commemoration.
We also have the latest info on the upcoming second season of The Eccentric Family, which is scheduled to start on April 9, 2017 on TOKYO MX, KBS Kyoto, and Kitanihon Broadcasting. The series will also be available on d anime store.
The cast includes Takahiro Sakurai, Junichi Suwabe, Hiroyuki Yoshino and other members from the previous season. Four new cast members have been announced: Junji Majima as Nidaime, Yoko Hikaka as Gyokurin, Yuichi Nakamura as Kureichiro, and Shimada Bin as Tenmaya.
The theme song will be performed by milktub, a group led by the beautiful girl game producer bamboo. The group provided the theme for the first season of The Eccentric Family. The ending theme will be performed by fhana, who also provided the ending for the first series and for the last season of Tales of Zestiria the X.
