A popular cycling TV anime, “Yowamushi Pedal” has been confirmed to start its 3rd season in January, 2017. It has also been announced to produce a theatrical film adaptation of spin-off anime “Yowamushi Pedal: Spare Bike”.
The movie will premier in cinemas in September, 2016.
The original manga was written and illustrated by Wataru Watanabe, and has reached a circulation of over 15 million. This series depict high-school teens who put everything on the sport of bicycle racing.
The anime TV series adaptation have had two seasons by last year, and the first-ever original theatrical adaptation was released in summer.
In this season 3, three freshmen; Sakamichi, Shunsuke Imaizumi and Shoukichi Naruko race in the inter-high school competition. Junta Teshima and Hajime Aoyagi are leading the team as sophomore. The story follows their passionate battle for victory as team Sohoku High.
Ahead of the 3rd season air, production of a new anime has also been announced.
The title is “Yowamushi Pedal: Spare Bike”.
It is the first adaptation of spin-off manga by Wataru Watanabe, in which he depicts the past of junior year characters. It has been serialized in “Bessatsu Shonen Champion”.
The movie will premier in cinemas in September, 2016 for two weeks. The details are to be announced in near future.
