Popular manga ReLIFE (constantly ranked first place on the manga and novel website comico) will get a live-action movie adaptation on April 15, 2017.
The new trailer features the movie’s theme song, Sakura, sung by the singer-songwriter Sonoko Inoue, an artist very popular with female high school students. Sakura was originally released in 2005 by Ketsumeishi to great acclaim.
In addition, the song will have a special collaboration in its rap part that will be one of the special moments of the movie.
ReLIFE is the story of a man who couldn’t get along in society and became a NEET. For only a year, he has the chance to go back to the time when he was 17 years old in high school. He unexpectedly meets new friends and falls in love in his second life in high school. These experiences gradually change his life.
The main characters will be played by = prolific actors Taishi Nakagawa and Yuuna Taira. In addition, the stellar cast also includes Mahiro Takasugi, Eraiza Ikeda, Sae Okazaki, and Yuudai Chiba.
The project producer commented that the song Sakura was chosen from a list of songs released in the past decade to represent the youth of the main character, 27-year old Kaizaki. There is nothing like a little bit of old nostalgia to bring out a few feelings, is there?
