The Contribtion Award is given to the Voice Actors/Actresses who have contributed to various genres for a long period.
Sachiko Chijimatsu who has been known as Pyonkichi in The “Gutsy Frog”, Tadashi Nakamura in the “Bewitched in Tokyo” as a narrator and Michiko Nomura in the “Doraemon” as Seika Minamoto have all been awarded.
Ms. Chijimatsu made a speech, saying, “I only have guts, but nothing else. As I love a Voice Actress, I just carried it on.” with a performed voice of “Pyonkichi”.
Ms. Nakamura talked about the episode of that she had fully realized the change of times and her delight of receiving the award.
Ms. Nomura said, “I was delighted, thinking that it may be only the two of us, a married couple who were awarded in this way, I wonder?”
She talked about the late Kenji Utsumi, her husband’s award (the 3rd Voice Actors/Actresses Award / the 8th Special Contribution Award) and she told us of her delight, saying “I’d like to tell him, putting this trophy along aside Kenji Utsumi’s, “Ken, I’ve got one as well.”
I’m now thinking why don’t I try to continue my job for a little longer, after receiving this award.”
Special Contribution Award
It was given in 2015 to the late Voice Actors/Actresses. (Shinji Ogawa, Kinya Aikawa, Hiroyuki Nishimoto, Yuusuke Takita, Mizuki Saitoo, Eiji Maruyama, Sumiko Shirakawa, Kazuya Tatekabe and Miyu Matsuki)
The Special Award is given to people or a group who took part in special activities.
The A-O-P (Saori Ogino, Risa Sakurana, Kei Tomoe, Yuuki Hirose,Aoi Mizuki and Yui Fukuo) were awarded.
This group follows the concept that girls who love animations support animations.
The A-O-P was all the talk in the TV animation, “Mr. Osomatsu” and “Hanamaru Pippi wa Yoiko dake” as its opening theme songs.
Ms. Ogino, the leader made a strong speech, “Thanks to the wonderful work, we were awarded. We’d like to support animations which we love forever.”
Then they performed “Hanamaru Pippi wa Yoiko dake” on the stage to a lively audience.
The biggest number of votes polled Award
This Award is given to the person who had the biggest number of votes polled in the total awarding list. Mr. Hiroshi Kamiya received this award.
It was announced that Mr. Kamiya will be a Hall of Fame member, because he was awarded for 5 years in a row since the award had been founded at the 6th awarding event.
He worked in the “Owari Monogatari” (as Koyomi Araragi), in the “ Mr. Osomatsu” ( as Choromatsu Matsuno) and in the “Prison School” (as Kiyoshi) and he performed as a lot of main characters he was extremely popular.
He said, “I’m an introverted person and I used to think I had nothing to be proud of. One day, a staff member of our company said to me, “Mr. Kamiya, you are my pride.” Since then I have become to think, “I am proud that I can work with such good people. This award and the Hall of Fame is a small amount of pride which everyone gave to me who is not very confident.”
The Director of sound effects, Mr. Ikuo Nagasaki’s Talk
As a special project of the 10th Voice Actors/Actresses Award, the director of sound effects from Mile Stone Music Publishing Company who is also the judge of this award, Mr. Ikuo Nagasaki was invited to the MC chair and he gave a talk to the public.
He introduced the work and the rudiments of his job as a director of sound effects
and talked about his frame of mind when he was dubbing an animated film.
When he talked about how the New-face Voice Actors/Actresses should be, he said that they should keep their own individualities, followed by “In this business, people of a “marked individuality” only can survive. Even in the audition, I only remember the people who had a “strong personality”, I don’t remember the people with no personality.”
Mr. Satoru Matsumoto who is the head judge for the Voice Actors/Actresses Award and the chairman of the Japan Animation Institute made a final comment.
According to him, they received 85,000 votes from the fans. It was a huge number of votes.
The animations which were produced in 2015 amounted to 322 in TV series, 78 in the opening public theaters, 450 in others such as OVA or WEB Movie.
There are Voice Actors / Actresses in all those animations.
The Voice Actors/Actresses Award to evaluate their great skills is very meaningful.
