The new movie will be based on the miracle born from a letter which has never been seen by anyone. It will be a new script written by Ichigo Takano, the original writer.
The final episode of the TV Anime orange (Final Episode –Connecting to the Future- 1 Hour Special), broadcast by TOKYO MX, included an information program that announced a movie sequel! The title of the movie will be orange-future and it will be released in Japan on November 18 for two weeks.
The movie’s key visual features the leading characters Naho and Kakeru, sitting along with Suwa on the bench of Agata no Mori Park (a real park in Matsumoto city of Nagano).
The quote of the movie is, “From that day, I always wanted to show these two this future” which is probably what Suwa feels for his two friends. The teaser trailer features new scenes like a small bin with a letter inside floating on the sea.
The movie will show Suwa’s side of the story: He is in love with Naho but in the end he backs up Kakeru and Naho’s relationship. It will combine Ichigo Takano’s newly written episode and famous scenes from TV anime. The main theme of the movie will be Kobukuro’s Mirai. Keep on reading for official comments from both creators.
Movitike and advanced ticket sales will start on October 14 (Fri).
Ichigo Takano’s (Original Writer) Comment
‘I was so sad that the TV anime series ends but I’m happy to see another animation on the movie.
The newly written episode is actually something I thought up for the final episode when I wrote the episode 1 but since I wanted to write the story from Suwa’s view, I wasn’t able to use it for the final episode.
The story features the future which 26 year old Suwa could not see and when I wrote, I kept in mind that the future of Naho and others who received letters is new to 26 year old Suwa and I also listened to the main theme Mirai when I wrote. Its lyrics is a perfect fit with the story and I decided to use it as a subtitle of the movie.
Please watch the future that was created with each one of them cherishing people they love.
I’m looking forward to see the movie at the theater!’
Kobukuro’s (main theme creator) Comment
‘It’s been a year since we met orange and made the song Mirai.
And now, the new story is emerging from orange.
The work and the song are strongly connected as the movie’s subtitle was decided as Mirai (future).
We think that all characters are the leading characters of orange.
One of the allures of orange is the gentle world that is painful but seen from everyone’s view.
We hope to add colors to the movie with the song Mirai so that audience feels that they are the leading character of the story after watching the movie. We are looking forward to the release of the movie.’
