The anime movie Sword Art Online – Ordinal Scale – is celebrating its upcoming release with a special collaboration project with Japanese variety store Tokyu Hands. The movie will be released in Japan on Saturday February 18th.
Cardboard cut-outs of the characters wearing the uniform will be exhibited at the Shibuya, Sapporo, and Sendai stores from Saturday January 28 to Sunday March 5, 2017. If you’re planning a trip to Japan during this period, you should definitely take pictures with the cardboard cutouts.
The Shibuya store will also be showing a gallery displaying 60 panels featuring famous scenes from the 49 episodes of SAO. It would be a nice recap of the anime events now that Kirito and Asuna are ready for their newest adventure.
Each store will be holding an official SAO lottery where you can win a specially-drawn frame! For a limited time, there will be a ‘spot check’ for the official SAO Augmented Reality smartphone app.
Asuna, Silica, and Lisbeth are selected as the campaign characters to wear the Tokyu Hands uniform. They look so cute! In addition, there will be original goods on sale such as iPhone cases (3500 yen) and clear file sets (3 pieces 1000 yen). The goods are based on items and icons from the anime.
Although the items will be available via mail order from February 10 on ANIPLEX +, the items other than the smartphone cases will only be available in very limited amounts. Don’t miss this opportunity if you are a fan of limited edition items!
