Short anime Neko to Mata will start airing as a segment of Fuji TV’s variety show Hi Poul on 21 April 2017. It will be shorter than your usual short titles, with the first episode being only 42 seconds long and the rest of the episodes adding an extra minute.
The two protagonists will be played by Takuma Nagatsuka and Tasuku Hatanaka.
The anime has an original story that shows short conversations between Neko and Mata, feline siblings. Neko is a selfish and spoilt younger sister-cat living together with her older-brother-cat Mata. One day, she dies in an accident and comes back to her brother as a ghost.
The key visual shows Neko and Mata sitting and talking under a street light. Obviously, both of them look like cats but if you look closely, you can see that Neko has two tails. She can only stay in this world for a limited time. When that time is over she will turn into a ball of fire. Neko always speaks her mind freely, while Mata replies gently to anything she says.
Neko is voiced by Takuma Nagatsuka (Isao Kifune in All Out!! and Reo Saionji in King of Prism by PrettyRhythm) and Mata by Tasuku Hatanaka (Ushio Aotsuki in Ushio and Tora, Ikoma in Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress).
In the near future, events and goods related to the anime and the voice actors are scheduled to come out. Details will be revealed on their official website.
The variety program Hi Poul has broadcast five short anime until now: Freaky High School, Chara Onji, PaRappa Rapper & PJ Berii, Kamigami no Ki, and Mikan Seijin.

Taking advantage of my school days, where I spent a lot of my free time with music and anime, I look for new content and want to expose the fun side of Japan’s Otaku culture.
My favorite anime is Gurren Lagann!
