Anime production company SANZIGEN announced on Wednesday that it will be establishing a new studio in Nagoya next April. It will be the company’s fourth studio following the ones in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Fukuoka.
SANZIGEN’s effort to develop teams outside Tokyo is part of an effort ‘to transmit Cell Look CG Animation to the world.’ The company, along with LIDENFILM, Ordet, and Trigger, is part of the group ULTRA SUPER PICTURES. This new local studio adds an extra layer of production ability to ULTRA SUPER PICTURES.
The SANZIGEN 3DCG production company was established in March 2006 by Hiroaki Matsuura and other former GONZO members. Bubuki Branki Hoshi no Kyojin, the second season of the original anime Bubuki Buranki, began airing in October 2016.
The studio is currently producing the new original anime ID-0 under Director Goro Taniguchi, the hit maker that produced Code Geass Hangyaku no Lelouch and s. As SANZIGEN head towards its 10th anniversary, it seems it is seeking to expand its reach even further.
