MANGA.TOKYO recently reported on the original anime to be produced by Saga Prefecture. The first anime will be titled Tadaima (I’m home) and the second anime will be titled Okaeri (Welcome home) and will be set in Karatsu City.
Karatsu city is famous for being the inspiration for protagonist Yuri Katsuki’s hometown, Hasetsu, in the Fall 2016 anime Yuri!!! on ICE.
Saga Prefecture will Produce Two New Anime
The main visual and more info on the ending theme song for Okaeri have just been announced. The screenplay was written by Hideki Sonoda, who comes from Saga, and previously supervised Beyblade: Burst. Popular singer-songwriter Sayaka Matsuya, also from Saga, will provide the ending theme song Taisetsu na basho. She wrote it specifically for the anime. It has a beautiful melody and it will color the story with many emotions.
The story takes place in Karatsu City. The doors to becoming a professional football player close in front of third year high-schooler Sora Hirai when he hurts his knee. He gets advice from athletes, but can’t seem to move forward… Sora’s mother can’t do anything but watch over him, when he suddenly says he will move to Tokyo. There he hopes he can start anew and move forward.
