The anime production company Polygon Pictures Inc. has entered the Amazon’s self-publishing service ‘Kindle Direct Publishing.’ It began publishing and selling digital books on February 1, 2017. The first work is Elisa and Old Norton, a youth story that has to do with the restoration of old motorcycles.
The youth novel written by Nanao Takaya. The story is set in 1990, and the main character Elisa moves to a high school in Fujimi-cho, Nagano. There she finds a British Norton Motorcycle 500 (1937) which belonged to her British grandfather. The story depicts Elisa’s growth as she tries to restore the broken Norton and meets a girl named Aiko who joins the old car club at school. Through the motorbike restoration tournament, many things happen with her friendship, her conflicts, and her love.
The author, Nanao Takao, graduated from Musashino Art University Junior College of Art and Design. She originally aimed to become a manga artist but ended up working in anime. She has participated in various works as an animation designer.
The light novel’s insert illustrations have been drawn by Yuuki Moriyama and Naoya Tanaka (Polygon Pictures Inc.). Yuuki Moriyama has designed characters for Knights of Sidonia, Ajin, BLAME!, and others. Naoya Tanaka has worked for Studio Ghibli Inc.
Elisa and Old Norton will launch starting February 1st, 2017. Price is 480 yen (Tax included). Polygon Pictures Inc. has revealed the policy to contribute various works besides the publishing of digital books. Please look forward to seeing various works in different genre.
