The stage event for popular manga My Hero Academia was held at the Jump Festival 2017 at Makuhari Messe on Sunday December 18.
The guests were Daiki Yamashita (Izuku Midoriya), Nobuhiko Okamoto (Katsuki Bakugo), Yuki Kaji (Shoto Todoroki) and Koki Uchiyama (Tomoya Shigaraki). This was Uchiyama’s first ‘Academia’ stage event, and he was not the only person to debut, as the were joined by original author Kohei Horikoshi!
The event featured a ‘HeroAca talk’ among Horikoshi and the cast members as well as the introduction of each of the cast members’ favorite scenes and Horikoshi’s live drawing performance of Izuku.
At the end of the stage event, the cast talked about their feelings towards the TV anime’s second season.
‘The recording for the second season is going very well. In the second season, each student’s characteristics and feelings is illustrated in detail so look forward to them.’ (Yamashita)
‘I’m a fan of the original work so I’m really looking forward to seeing Todoroki’s cool scenes. Thank you for your continuous support.’ (Okamoto)
‘We are now recording the second season. I assume fans of the original work are looking forward to seeing all these famous scenes. So we would like to enjoy performing as well.’ (Kaji)
‘This is my first time joining the event but thank you for your warm welcome. Shigaraki is a villain so I will try to defeat everybody.’ (Uchiyama)
Kohei Horikoshi commented. ‘I heard that the anime’s second season is going to feature scenes not in the original work so I’m looking forward to see it. It will try harder to make the manga even better so I appreciate your continuous support.’
TV anime My Hero Academia second season will start on April 2017!
