The live action movie Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Diamond Is Unbreakable (to be released on August 4, 2017) has revealed two new photos of the Nijimura Brothers.
Actor Masaki Okada will play Keicho, a stone-cold character working undercover in Moriocho for some dreadful conspiracy. Okada is a fan of the original series and he shared his thoughts on his role, ‘Although he has a ruthless aspect, he is also a steadfast character.’ In the movie, he will faithfully replicate Keicho’s peculiar style: he will be pig-tailed with long blond hair, ‘I really like both his outfit and hairstyle. I can feel myself getting closer and closer to Keicho everyday and I’m sure this will be my huge advantage.’ The visual gives off both Okada’s confidence and Keicho’s strength.
Actor Mackenyu will play Okuyasu, the troublesome brother who often makes things difficult for Keicho because of his lack of care. At the press conference for the movie’s release held in September 2016, Mackenyu made a comment on his role, ‘Okuyasu loves his brother Keicho so much. He is a silly but lovable character. I’m glad to have the chance to act as such a nice character.’ To create the unique look his role, he dyed both sides of his hair silver, and shaved his hair and eyebrows before the filming. Mackenyu made a comment implying that his appearance strongly affected his approach to the character, ‘Through playing Okuyasu, I have tried out a lot of things and thanks to these efforts, I could get closer to my role.’
It’s really exciting to find out how these bizarre brothers will face Josuke and his friends in the movie. How will these brothers interact with each other?
