Hello! I am Kitahata, the editor-in-chief at MANGA.TOKYO. I live in Japan and turn press releases from Japanese companies into articles that are easy for those outside of Japan to understand. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
It has been announced that Kozueko Morimoto’s Ashi-Girl will get a live action adaptation!
Ashi-Girl is a love comedy and tells the story of Yui Hayakawa, a girl who ends up time-leaping into the Sengoku Period by using her younger brother’s time machine. She is a regular high school girl, whose only talent is the strength of her legs. The manga is being serialized in Shueisha’s Kokohana.
The cast for the live action TV drama include Yuina Kuroshima, who plays Shima Sumitomo in the movie Principal: Am I a Heroine Who is in Love, and Kentaro (Yusuke Fujioka in Sensei!) who plays Tadakiyo Hagikuhachirou, a character Shima meets in the Sengoku Period. The series will broadcast on NHK starting 23 September 2017 and have a total of 12 episodes.
The July issue of Kokohana coming out on 27 May 2017 will include comments of Kentaro and Yuina Kuroshima.
