The second season of Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World) will begin on January 11, 2017. In celebration, a Special Mini Concert and Talk Event was held in the Grand Square of AEON Mall Makuharu New City on November 27. The guests were Rie Takahashi (Megumin), Sayuri Hara (Luna), Testu Inada (the ruffian) and the singer of the opening theme song, Machico.
This event celebrated the third anniversary of AEON Mall Makuhari New City as well as the airing of Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Sukufuku wo! 2. It was held twice, once from 1 p.m. and once from 3:30 p.m.
There were many KonoSuba fans who came to the stage at the Grand Square. The event began with Takahashi, Hara, and Inada explaining to the audience the world of KonoSuba and what happened in the first season. They then talked about the scenes that best showed how great (or rough!) their three characters are.
They then asked the audience to choose who best represented ‘I am the explosion!’ (First Catchphrase) or ‘I am the brute!’ (Second Catchphrase). Rie Takahashi was chosen for ‘I am the explosion’ thanks to the scene in which her character shined most. Tetsu Inada was of course selected as ‘I am the brute’ thanks to his rowdiest scenes. The winners were presented with a very suitable prize: fireworks with ‘Explosion’ on them. The audience erupted in laughter.
Opening Theme Song Artist Machico Mini Concert
When the talk was over, Machico, who sang the opening theme song, started her mini concert.
When she started singing fantastic dreamer (the opening of the first season), the atmosphere of the hall changed a lot and become more like a concert. She then performed the opening theme for the second season, TOMORROW. She commented, ‘It’s the first time this sond is performed live!’ After the mini concert, the three cast members once again appeared on stage and talked about the new opening theme.
The event ended with the cast members thanking the audience and expressing their regret for reaching the end so quickly.
