BLAME! is the debut work from Tsutomu Nihei, the comic author who has won the 39th Kodansha manga award with Knights of Sidonia.
BLAME was serialized in the comic magazine, Afternoon from Kodansha, from 1997 to 2003.
Its uniquely created world and depictions have attracted a lot of hard-core SF fans and influenced creators worldwide.
The long-awaited legendary SF comic will finally be animated in movie theaters.
The story takes place in the hopeless future, where all mankind is being eliminated and extirpated as unwanted inhabitants.
The comic depicts the lone and perilous journey of the main character, named Killy who explores the infinitely expanding technological world known as The City.
The comic has won overwhelming support not only domestically but also from all over the world for its distinctive atmosphere of the world and stylishly drawn action depictions.
The eagerly awaited comic will be finally animated on big screens after nearly 20 years since the first issue.
The director will be Hiroyuki Seshita who has created the amazingly detailed stylish SF battle scenes in Knights of Sidonia.
He also worked on the movie titled Ajin as a director and contributed to creating thrilling as well as suspenseful fighting scenes.
As for his creation of animation, he has won a number of awards both domestically and internationally.
His contributions include overseas movies such as Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Transformers: Prime.
