Saku Sakamoto is an animation creator who has started producing the anime film titled Aragne’s Insect Cage (Aragne no Mushikago) by himself. It will be completed in Fall 2017 and will be released in theaters sometime in 2018.
Aragne’s Insect Cage is directed, written, and animated by Saku Sakamoto. He will also be writing the score for the film. Few anime productions of more than 60 minutes have been produced by one person in the past, so Sakamoto is gathering people’s attention even though the movie has not been completed yet.
The movie takes place in a huge apartment building that is known to be haunted. An 18-year-old female university student named Rin moves to the apartment building and faces mysterious phenomenons. What is hidden in the apartment building!?
Saku Sakamoto is a freelancer who has been working as an anime creator since 2002. He has directed various works including Minna no Uta (NHK). He is bringing us his unique world by putting his techniques and various perspectives on different genres, including not only horror but also mystery, fantasy, violence, and others!
The mysterious girl named Hasuna will be voiced by Ayana Shiramoto (14) who is a presenter of the scientific variety show Suiensaa and appeared in Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger. The folklore researcher, Tokiyo, will be voiced by Yousuke Itou; the shaman Saion by Fukujuurou Katayama; and the young man with secrets, Mikaya, by Shougo Batori. The heroine, Rin, has not been cast yet. Please look forward to the cast updates. The production and direction will be worked on by director and novelist Osamu Fukutani.
