Hime-chan no Ribbon (Hime-chan’s Ribbon) is a popular manga series written by Mizusawa Megumi. Its short story collection ‘Hime-chan no Ribbon Tanpenshuu (Hime-chan’s Ribbon: Short Story Collection)’ was released on January 25, 2017.
This book includes five spin-off episodes, such as ‘Trio Trouble’, which were released to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the magazine Ribon. It also includes ‘Sunao na Kokorode (With an Honest Heart)’ which was released in the separate volume of the women’s magazine BAILA.
BAILA and Ribon are both Shueisha magazines, and this BAILA’s separate volume titled ‘Isshou Ribon-ko Sengen! (Declaration to be a Life-Long Ribon Lover!)’ was released to commemorate Ribon’s 60th anniversary. Special illustrations will also be included in the short story collection. It will be the first time in 23 years for a new book of Hime-chan no Ribbon to be published from Ribon Mascot Comics.
Hime-chan no Ribbon is a fantasy story about a junior-high school student named Himeko Nonohara, who uses a magical ribbon to turn into whoever she wants to. It was serialized in Ribon during the 1990s, and it has been adapted into many media works such as anime, novels, and musicals.
