It’s been ten long years, but Gode Geass is getting a new project (a third season) and a compilation film that is going to be divided in three parts.
Sunrise made the announcement on the title’s 10th anniversary event. The sequel has the title Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection) and if there is any hint to be found in the title, the new season will probably spoil one of the best endings in anime so far. Many fans have already expressed their concerns about having… Lelouch coming back from the dead, however they may justify it.

The story will take place seven years after the events of the previous season. The compilation film will recap both previous seasons, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2. We don’t know any definite premiere dates, but the first movie will come out somewhere in 2017.
