A new trailer and poster have been released for the movie Gintama, scheduled for a 14 July release. The video shows skyscrapers lining in Edo’s streets, Shinpachi’s narration says, ‘That man was too wild to be called a samurai, but his eyes were too honest to call him a hoodlum.’ Shinpachi and Gintoki meet and shots of each character, that had not previously been made clear, played one after the other. The final scene shows Gintoki fiercely crossing swords in an overwhelming action scene; we can even see Shinpachi fighting Takechi!
The poster centers on an imposing Gintoki with the Yorozuya members, Shinpachi and Kagura, as well as Shinpachi’s elder sister Tae, the Joui Rebel Kotaro Katsura, and Katsura’s ‘pet’, Elizabeth. Also appearing on the poster are three members of the Shinsengumi, Isao Kondo, Toshiro Hijikata, and Sogo Okita, and members of the Kiheitai, Nizou Okada, Henpeita Takechi, and Matako Kijima. Gintama has gathered an amazing cast.
Also, it has been confirmed along with the appearance of the Murata siblings (Ken Yasuda as Tetsuya the sword master, and Akari Hayami as Tetsuya’s younger sister Tetsuko), the appearance of the machinery shop owner, Genkai!
We also want to draw your attention not only to the characters but to the scenery as well. The skyscrapers that blot out Edo’s towns, and the space ships flying in the sky, are reflecting the world of Gintama, a mix of special effects and historical drama. It will be interesting to see how the characters and story will express this unique world.
