The manga Blame! has been serialized in Kodansha’s Afternoon between 1997 and 2000, and Knights of Sidonia was the debut work of the same author, Tsutomu Nihei, with which he won the 39th Kodansha Manga Awards. Director of both anime adaptations was Hiroyuki Seshita, also known for his work on Ajin. The animation studio was Polygon Pictures who were praised for their work on Transformers Prime.
Blame! was also the first anime to be screened in cinemas using the Dolby Atmos sound system in Japan. For more information on the sound system, take a look at our report:
Special guests will be Aya Suzaki, who voices Tae in Blame! and Shizuka Hoshijiro in Knights of Sidonia, Hiroyuki Seshita, the director of both titles, his co-director Naohiro ‘Tady’ Yoshihira, and the sound director Yoshikazu Iwanami.
The guests will share stories of the production and never-heard-before secrets… And there seems to be new information about Knights of Sidonia…
