TMS Entertainment announced that they will adapt the popular fighting comic series Baki into a TV anime.
The Baki series by Keisuke Itagaki has so far released a total of 123 volumes and sold over 63 million copies (Weekly Shonen Champion by Akitashoten). It features a variety of fighters, but focuses on the mortal combat between protagonist Baki Hanma, the youngest champion of the Maximum Tournament, and his father, Yujiro Hanma, the strongest creature on earth.
Ever since its birth as Grappler Baki back in 1991, the series has become mainstream popular to the point that TV variety shows included it in their gigs. It’s like a bible for all men who are seeking to become strong.
New Key Visual to Celebrate The Anime Adaptation
The new TV series will be called Baki -Prisoners Saga-, a continuation of the previously broadcast anime series, Grappler Baki from 2001. The key visual shows Baki Hanma ready for battle!
