Upcoming anime Atom The Beginning, the prequel to Osamu Tezuka’s Astro Boy, has revealed its key visual and broadcast dates!
The visual shows the two young genius scientists Umataro Tenma and Hiroshi Ochanomizu, who are at the heart of the story, as well as their robot creation, A106. Information about the air date was also released. NHK General TV will air the anime starting from 15 April 2017 every Saturday at 23:00 and the episodes will also be released every Sunday at 1:30 on Amazon Prime Video.
Atom The Beginning is currently being serialized in the monthly magazine Hero’s and tells the story of a world that was hit by an unknown catastrophe and also the story of how Astro Boy was created. Tetsuro Kasahara (Rideback, Xad Runner) helped with the writing, and supervising the concept works was Masami Yuuki. Katsuyuki Motohiro (Psycho Pass) is the general director and Tatsuo Sato (Moretsu Pirates) will be directing. The series composition is being taken on by Junichi Fujisaku (Blood+) and the producers are OLM, Production I.G, and SIGNAL.MD.

It also includes an interview with Tatsuo Sato (director), Junichi Fujisaku (series composition) and Tetsuro Kasahara (writer) who tell us background information on the anime and cast, and behind-the-scenes stories. There is also a comment from director Motohiro Katsuyuki.
