He~y, this is YUKI! This episode is a story of our pretty Koito-chan, we’re gonna see why she stopped openly expressing her emotions. Can she open up to Haruhiko and the others? If you ask me, it’s gonna be kinda nice if Koito and Haruhiko’s friend, Shosuke, get closer… 🙂
Synopsis of the Fifth Episode: I Can’t Use My Special Abilities!
A vicious Phantom attacks small animals at school. Koito Minase is tasked with hunting it down. When she arrives at the school’s rabbit hutch, she spots Kurumi Kumamakura, an elementary schooler who’s feeding the rabbits. A three-headed Phantom appears in front of them. Koito, who has never a single time failed in Phantom removal, confronts the three-headed Phantom. But, oh my gosh, it showers nasty poisonous mist at Koito.
Kurumi-chan didn’t have much screen time so far, well, until now. This is her turn to shine! She is in charge of the school’s pet animals. When she is feeding the rabbits, Koito-chan walks up to her, and then, the three-headed Phantom attacks. Koito-chan gets into a tight spot after inhaling the poison mist. Who saves her from getting beaten up? It’s that thing on Kurumi-chan’s head… it’s the plush teddy bear, namely, Albrecht! His POW! is so ridiculously kick-ass 🙂
Don’t you think that it is super adorable that Kurumi-chan is carrying Albrecht on top of her head? Her unique hair-do might be just perfect to keep Albrecht on her tiny head.
For several reasons, the group splits up in two. First team, Haruhiko, Ruru, and Koito. Second team, Mai, Reina, and Kurumi. Both teams go after the escaping Phantom.
Maybe because of the pairing, Mai-senpai appears unhappy with the situation; she starts being cold to Haruhiko. I bet she is jealous about Haruhiko caring about Koito. What’s your thoughts on that?
Koito-chan gets personal with Haruhiko
At the very very end of the episode, Koito blushes while she chats with Haruhiko. She’s oh-so adorable~!
There is a quick scene showing Koito doing “Itadakimasu” in front of her meal, despite that she’s alone and nobody cares either way.
Considering that she cares about people enough to politely say “thank you” and “sorry” I think Koito knows manners plus she is truthful. My approval rate of Koito-chan went way up this time.
Before the meals, even if she’s all by herself, she does “Itadakimasu” (which is one of those good etiquettes in the Japanese culture. You put palms together and tilt head down to express gratitude for the meal.)
She has an ability to sense Phantom’s presence.
Actually she doesn’t need chanting to launch her voice attack.
She lives alone.
She puts tons of sugar to her milk.
Well now we know what has happened to Koito in her past. And it looks like she is slightly more frank with Haruhiko and the other girls. I hope she opens up more even just a tiny bit? My hope is to see her smiles someday.
Let’s talk about how well Kurumi-chan did. Mai-senpai asked Kurumi-chan to help dealing with some tasks. How does this new force affect the next round?
