Episode 5: A Price for This Cursed Sword!
“No More! I Hate Living in Debts!”
Aqua is drawn with loans. She persuades Kazuma to take up a high-level job that doesn’t require monster combat. He chooses a lake purifying request.
Aqua is full of confidence in this quest as she is a goddess of water after all. But the lake is infested with dangerous monsters. Kazuma comes up with a brilliant idea. He locks up Aqua in a steel cage and dips it in the lake. He is confident that this tactic is safe and secure.
“This doesn’t mean that I come to the lake to neglect the useless goddess in the lake.”
Kazuma persuades himself, however, he also knows that cage doesn’t prevent the lake monsters from spotting her, so…
After the lake purification is completed, Aqua looks utterly shocked. One guy runs up to her. His name is Kyouya, a clean, nice, armor and sword guy, obviously a hero type.

Review (spoiler alert)
Once she is reminded that she is a goddess, Aqua finally snaps out from the after-quest depression, and faces Kyouya. He tells Aqua that he was bestowed with the sacred sword “Gram” from none other than Aqua herself, and that that is the reason why Kyouya reincarnated to this world.
Kyouya learns several things during the conversation, like, Kazuma forcibly brought Aqua with him to travel this world, and that he locked up Aqua in a cage so he can dip her in the lake water. Additionally, Aqua sleeps in a stable. Kyouya rages at this poor treatment, and, demands that Megumin and Darkness should ditch Kazuma and join him instead, because he can afford more high-end equipment. Not only Kazuma but also the rest of the members, and surprisingly, even the masochist Darkness, grow impatient against Kyouya and want to smash his pretty face.
As Kazuma leaves the conversation, Kyouya calls him back. He suggests a duel. The winner gets Aqua. If Kazuma wins, Kyouya says, he will do one anything that Kazuma asks for.
Kazuma has anticipated this. He accepts the duel immediately, then starts his attack right away. The moment when Kyouya staggers, Kazuma uses “Steal” magic and summons the sacred sword Gram to his hand. He brings the sword back home.
At the bar, Kazuma and his party enjoy down time. Kyouya arrives at the scene and asks Kazuma to return the sword back to him. However, Kazuma is no longer the owner of the sacred sword Gram. Instead, he has a bag of gold in his hand.
The guild issues another urgent quest. The announcement notes that Kazuma and his party are especially requested immediately at the front gate. When Kazuma and the rest arrive, they see yet again, the headless knight, Dullahan, the leader of Demon King Army.
I laughed really heard watching Aqua. Her desperate face, dealing with alligators, LOL
Kyouya, the new character, is amusing too, what a dickhead, everyone is playing a fool out of him and he doesn’t know it.
Kazuma and his party’s reaction to this somber and annoying guy are worth a mention. They really don’t like him.
The lake purifying quest is successfully completed, Kazuma’s Steal magic is a success, Aqua smashed her God Blow in the end, and both Kazuma and Aqua got handsome cash rewards. I think everybody improved in this episode.
After all, Dullahan is the best LOL
