Haruhiro’s team decides to take some days off, in order to recover from battle, and more importantly, they want a short break from the goblin hunt. The members spend the off day in their own ways; some decide to just relax and rest, others go out to walk around. That night, the members regroup at the local pub, and hear a disturbing piece of news. Something odd is happening to the old town of Damrow. Haruhiro is alerted by this and suggests a new hunting place.

Review (spoiler alert)
Having finished the meaningful war, Haruhiro and the rest decide to take a break.
The breakfast prepared by Moguzo looks yummy.
After the breakfast, Haruhiro finds Shihoru feeding birds at the bridge. I have a feeling that she makes it her new habit to come here and feed the birds, ever since Manato died.
Haruhiro walks around downtown aimlessly, and runs into Mary at a cafe. Mary explains that she lodges there as all the other residents are all women. In this scene Mary is not wearing her combat suit, which gives her a refreshed look.
That night, Haruhiro is at the pub again. He hears that the old part of Damrow is getting restless with angry goblins. The old part of Damrow is Haruhiro’s hunting ground. He learns that the armed goblin’s nest that he has seized the other day belongs to goblins that mainly dwell in the new part of the town. Haruhiro’s victory fumed the new-town goblin gangs whom flooding to the old town of Damrow.
Haruhiro is alerted by this information and suggested his party member to pick a different hunting ground. He mentions the name of the Cyrene mine. That is the battle ground where Mary has lost her party members. She feels awkward and quickly leaves the pub.
Haruhiro runs after her. She tells Haruhiro that it is really hard for her to go to the Cyrene mine. Nonetheless, she wants to overcome the death of her team members. She is not confident that she can do it alone. Maybe she can, if Haruhiro and his friends go with her.
Haruhiro asks his party members to be fully equipped and ready, before they head to the Cyrene mine. Haruhiro himself decides to acquire a guerilla tactic called “Spider” and receives harsh training from a leader of thiefs. After that the party sets out to the Cyrene mine.
Shihoru’s bird feeding scene reminds me of a previous scene with Manato. The conversations between the two didn’t seem to make much sense but when Shihoru says “I’m looking forward to working with you” it feels like she settled something inside her, or maybe she has a new resolution.
In the town walking scene, I like how the animation made me feel like the town is moving around me.
Mary asked if she should invite Yume and Shihoru to lodge at the same inn she’s staying, I was really moved.
In the scene where Mary rushed out of the pub, the starry sky illustration is so beautiful, it made me want to go there. Mary’s monologue in the subsequent scene reveals her core strength.
This ninth episode focuses on Mary’s feeling as a heroine. I like how Mary is performed. The voice acting is fantastic.
Next week, finally, the party heads to the Cyrene mine. I don’t want anybody to die.
