Review (spoiler alert)
Haruhiro and the members head to take down the armored goblin that killed Manato in the previous combat. Mary is now in the former position of Manato. Unlike last time, all of the members join to rally together.
They approach the goblins nest without being noticed, and launch a surprise attack. At this point, all of the members have upgraded their combat skills. It is a piece of cake to sneak into the building.
They rush to the second floor, and face several goblins, which seem to be highly experienced in battle against humans. Yume and Moguzo sustain injury, but, Mary uses her recovery spells, and Shihoru supports from the back. Eventually they repel the goblins and give them a chase to the upper floor.
As they land on the upper floor, an armored goblin is about to draw its last breath. Ranta attempts to give it a final blow. But, another goblin hiding near the ceiling ambushes Haruhiro’s team with arrows. The arrow hits Mary. That dying goblin on the floor jumps up and attacks.
Manato’s last combat scene flashes through Haruhiro’s mind. Fortunately, to Haruhiro’s relief, Mary has enough strength left to heal her arrow wound.
After having knocked down several armored goblins, Haruhiro gives chase to the goblin that ran off to the roof. Haruhiro corners the goblin to engage him in an one-on-one fist fight. In the goblin’s hand, a black dagger is tightly held. That is the same dagger Haruhiro had lost in the combat that killed Manato.
This is it. At last, Haruhiro defeats the last armed goblin.
After the monumental battle, Haruhiro and the team head to Manato’s grave.
They come here to report to him that the party is now upgraded to an official volunteer soldier team. The team chipped in to purchase Manato’s member card. Shihoru places it on the Manato’s grave, and cries her eyes out, as if she has been patiently waited for this moment.
Snow falls gently. Haruhiro and Mary walk back to the town. Mary notices that Haruhiro doesn’t look very happy. Haruhiro replies that he was contemplating on her feelings; it is hard enough to lose one member of the party, let alone three members all together. Haruhiro and Mary seem to trust each other a little more than before.
Mary finally found her place in Haruhiko’s party. Yet still, she was little clumsy with the group rally, which was little interesting.
It is obvious that Mary trusts Haruhiro, which makes me happy.
The goblins play chess and card games. The goblin life style is similar to that of the humans. Although the goblins are unmistakably our enemy, I thought that goblins feeding pets is cunning LOL
Seeing such a scene, I understand goblins have a certain life style. Remembering the detailed depictions of goblin life doesn’t make me happy.
In one combat scene, Yume delivered a fatal blow with a single shot. She has improved.
Moguzo’s personality has changed a lot, I’m surprised LOL
This is just a small thing, but, toward the end, there is a scene where Mary is walking on a bridge and then turns around to continue talking. I noticed other voices slightly echoing under the building, and felt that that effect is a job of quality.
In the very last scene, Haruhiro starts “Mary, I ….” But his speech is suspended by the town’s chime.
