The Bubuki Battle in the previous episode ended in an unexpected result; Azuma’s Oubu team won. No one expected that the kids team put up such a good fight. Now it is getting really hard to predict what’s going to happen next.
In this episode, a headless Buranki makes a mysterious and surprising appearance. At this emergency, Azuma’s Oubu team and Reoko’s Entei team must cooperate to take on the intruder.
Synopsis: Episode 7
“You are… I remember you from the last time…”
A headless Buranki charges at a rushing train that carries Oubu. Azuma identifies that is the same headless Buranki that had assaulted Azuma and his family a decade ago at the Treasure Island. Azuma cranes his neck at the monster, motionless. At one second it looks like Azuma was crushed under the headless Buranki’s gigantic foot. Actually, Kinoa’s Hoemaru and Himekiri come and snatch Azuma out of harm, at a hairline.
Kogane sighs in relieve. Hiiragi and Shizuru join.
When the four hold up their Bubukis, Azuma’s heart sparks in bright light, then the next moment, their Buranki “Oubu” rises from the pillar of light.
Highlight 1: Oubu vs Headless Buranki
Azuma and the team activate their Buranki, Oubu, to take down the headless nameless Buranki.
This is the second time that they form and operate their Oubu Buranki. Note that there is a big upgrade from the last time.
In the previous battle, when they activated Oubu, Kogane rode on the Oubu’s right arm, Hiiragi was on the Oubu’s left foot. Which means that, the members directly sat on the corresponding body parts to operate.
This time, though, all five members are housed in the central cockpit, inside the Oubu’s body. In the command room there are four chairs. Azuma stands in the middle, while Kogane, Hiiragi, Kinoa, and Shizuru sit around him in the chair.
This change in the command style suggests that Azuma and the team are stepping up to the next level. They won the battle against the adult team, they are on the ball. They are ready to take down the headless Titan. They may even feel invincible. Despite the resolution, though, Oubu is defeated quickly.
Highlight #2: Entei vs. Headless Buranki
In stark contrast to Azuma’s Oubu, Reoko and her Shiten-no (The Great Four) members demonstrate an overwhelming power.
Reoko challenges the Headless Buranki alone. Watching the combat from the sideline, Shiten-no quickly learns that Reoko’s heart Bubuki alone is not enough to take down the behemoth monster. Zetsubi persuades Azuma and others to offer Oubu’s limbs, so that Entei can use them. Azuma agrees. Just like that, Entei Buranki revives to its full form for the first time in the last 24 years.
Note that this is the debut of Entei in its fully equipped form. Behold, its dignified appearance, elegant and flowing motion, and powerful combat abilities – the perfection of Buranki, that’s what I’m talking about!
Entei wastes no time in defeating the Headless Buranki with its overwhelming stamina.
This episode emphasis an obvious gap between the adults (those who have experiences) and the kids (those who don’t).

I want to share a quick run-down of the key events that happened from 24 years ago to today. You can find more on the official Twitter page.
It was 24 years ago. Reoko’s Buranki “Entei” and Migiwa’s Buranki “Oubu” engaged in a fierce war. The areas around Ueno are completely burnt down. Entei lost the battle to Oubu, resulting to lose four limbs.
A total of nine Buranki fell from the sky of Tokyo. Reoko’s Entei defeated all of them, except one, Migiwa’s Oubu. After Azuma fled the war zone, the four limbs of Bubuki were stored by the respective owner’s houses. Only the empty torso was buried deep inside the cemetery building in Shinjuku, by the hands of Reoko’s team.
Fast-forward to the present time. Azuma came back to Japan from studying abroad. He met Kogane, which led to unite with the Oubu team. Together, the members awaken their Buranki “Oubu” at the cemetery building in Shinjuku.
From the corpse of the Headless Buranki, Azuma discovers a map that leads to the Treasure Island. He and the team decide to continue traveling, and board on the train that was left by Reoko. This is the rough summary of historic events from 24 years ago to this day, counting its seventh episode.
How did you like it?
The mysterious figure in the last scene is Azuma’s twin sister, Kaoruko. I’ve been wondering for a while when and how she is going to join the story, so, I’m excited to see the glimpse of her appearance. More reasons to look forward to the next episode!
