Now let’s look at the synopsis of the fifth episode!
Synopsis of the fifth episode
On the running train heading to the Treasure Island, the Bubuki battle continues between Kinoa and Arabashiri. The moment when Kinoa sees a flash of light sparking from Arabashiri’s ring, she experiences a flash back and sees her own image of old times. Azuma tries to intervene, but, Kinoa stops him, saying that she can handle Arabashiri by herself. Convinced, Azuma steps back. Contrarily, Hiiragi seems to be very inquisitive to learn about the relationship between Kinoa and Arabashiri. What has happened in the past between the two?
Kinoa vs. Arabashiri
This episode’s protagonist is Kinoa, that wild, bad-ass girl from a rich-kids school. She wears shirts with front wide open to show off cleavage, speaks rough, and she is pretty explosive. However, the episode reveals that she used to be a genuine good girl.
During the battle with Arabashiri, Kinoa sinks deeper into a memory lane and contemplates on the time when she had feelings for Arabashiri.
Back then, Kinoa had been struggling with her self-image and integrity as a Bubuki user. She had not told anyone about her special skills. However, she met with Arabashiri and started to open her heart to him. Eventually she grew to be confident about being a Bubuki user. At the same time, she fell for Arabayashi’s sweetness who encouraged and supported her. However, she didn’t have the slightest idea about Arabayashi’s real agenda, which is to steal Konoa’s Bubuki.
Back to the present scene, while being engaged in a Bubuki battle, Kinoa is locked up in her own memory and starts losing her ability to move. Grabbing this chance, Arabashiri tries to launch a final blow. Kinoa embraces herself to lose this battle. That precise moment, something unexpected happens. Kinoa’s Bubuki swings in from nowhere; hits Kinoa, to wake her up. Thanks to this wake-up call, Kinoa dodges Arabayashi’s attack with a hairline, and then, successfully turns the tide of the battle to her victory.
Bubuki is a weapon of its own will
It was a narrow escape, but Kinoa wins the second Bubuki battle, thanks to the fact that Bubuki can move on their own discretion. It means that a Bubuki is not just a fighting tool; rather, it is a weapon of its own will. Let me share with you more information on the secrets of Bubuki I dug up from the official Twitter page.
- A Bubuki is a transformation of Branki’s limbs, and a weapon with its own will. It is also an enhancer of the power of “linze” possessed by the Bubuki owner, the subject of the binding contract.
- Bubuki can use the power of linze dwelling inside the Bubuki user’s body to create a barrier around it.
- Bubuki users’ clothes and accessories serves as a medium for the barrier to form. This is why the Bubuki users clothes glows in light during battle.
- If a physical distance between Bubuki users and Bubuki expands, the connection between the two gets weakened. Consequently, the effect of the barrier weakens too.
