BUBUKI/BURANKI – #03
KONNICHIWA! Emi again!
Despite the revival of the buranki “Obu,” Reoko and her buranki Entei defeated Obu with its overwhelming power in the second episode. The anime environment has gradually started revealing itself. In the succeeding episode, various facts continue to unveil. Let’s dive right in to the third episode.
Synopsis of third episode
Ten years ago, millions of Derashine fell all over the sky of Tokyo, and got wiped out by Reoko Banryu and Entei. Reoko stands in roaring fire, with a mad smile. That day, Reoko and Entei’s reign of terror began. Fast forward to the present time, in Tokyo. Azuma and the team are on the run, walking around Shinjuku, then, they eventually meet a woman who calls herself Horino. She knows Azuma’s mother, Migiwa Kazuki. She says Migiwa is the only individual who has ever won a battle against Reoko. Horino then told Azuma that he needs to know more, and takes him to the Kazuki Library.
Highlight 1 Truth unveils – history
The third episode reveals some of the facts from the past. Let me organize them in an chronological order.
From the ancient times, the family of Kazuki and the family of Banryu have respectively inherited the heart Buranki; both families repeatedly engaged in conflicts over time.
Twenty-four years ago, a battle flared up again between Migiwa’s Obu and Reoko’s Entei. Migiwa engaged in a fight with Reoko, in Ueno, defeated her, to bring the end to the war. Migiwa ascended to the Buranki nest.
Ten years ago, unexpectedly, a Buranki fell from the sky. Reiko and Entei came back on earth, wiped out the rest of the Buranki and became the new rulers.
Her reign continues since then to now.
Highlight 2 Truth unveils – Bubuki Buranki
I found the official twitter posts that summarize up the information on Bubuki Buranki parts; I’d like to share some of them here.
- Like Obu, all Buranki consists of the body plus five Bubuki.
- Azuma inherited from his mother Migiwa the heart Bubuki that belongs to Obu.
It seems that the heart of Obu is a part of human being and not a weapon or tool, hence, it doesn’ have a specific term.
- Five Bubuki wielder families have protected the assigned Obu Bubuki over generations.
- Azuma Kazuki’s family: heart
- Kogane Asabuki’s family: right hand (called Righty-chan)
- Kinoa Ougi’s family: left hand (called Hoemaru and Himekiri)
- Shizuru Taneomi’s family: right leg (called Tsurarai)
- Hiiragi Nono’s family: left leg (called Iwaotoshi)
Highlight 3 Azuma vs. Hiiragi
Azuma believes that his heart is the only connection between him and his family. He can’t give it away; however, Hiiragi wants to control Obu’s heart with his strong leadership, and feels that Azuma should give it to him. Hiiragi engaged in a fist fight with Azuma over the control of the heart.
Hiiragi prefers brawling over talking when it comes to negotiations. But, he’s not a bad guy. He shows great leadership skills, and above all, he loves and respects his dad. His passion to make the world a better place is second to no one. His exceptional sense of responsibility makes him believe that he’s the leader and true wielder of the Obu’s heart.
They say that the heart and the limbs are not in master-servant relationship. So… that means it is not so meaningful to question who is right to control the heart.
Anyways, Azuma and Hiiragi didn’t make up after the fight. Still, though, it seems like they learned a little bit more about each other.
Well, how did you like it?
I wonder if they head to Buranki’s nest next time. I’m looking forward to the next episode!
