This time it’s Mashiro’s turn. Mashiro’s charm point is her twintail hair style. She’s Misaki’s sidekick, usually. In this episode she’s the heroine of the story. Watch her improvement as FC player, and you are gonna love her more than ever before. Alright, let’s review episode number four, jam-packed with Mashiro’s charms!
Synopsis of fourth episode
Mashiro got herself into a situation where she must pass the make-up exam to keep the minimum grade. Not only she is ragging behind the classmates on tests, she is also trailing behind Asuka and Misaki in terms of FC skills. She comes to sudden realization that Asuka and Misaki has been quickly advancing, while she is not. In the regular practice, Mashiro is not happy with her performance which did not go well. Agitated, she shoots off to the night sky to practice on her own. Coincidentally, she finds Rika flying to her home. She implores to Rika to play one match with her, calling it a quest for skill-up.
Highlights Growth of Mashiro
Asuka has a natural talent of playing FC. She just needs to keep practicing to learn how to use her talent. Misaki is highly skilled, and she’s got a big goal, defeat Shindo. On the other hand, Mashiro is clearly ragging behind the two talents. She realizes the gap and secretively struggles with her slow improvement.
“I want to catch up with everyone!”
Mashiro’s passion leads herself to ask for a special training from Rika, the first-year of Takafuji School, who has just happened to fly nearby. Mashiro asked her to teach her the basic of FC, so she can improve quickly. Rika agrees to spend one week with Mashiro for her special training after school.
Rika drills the critical FC basics into Mashiro: Do not lose speed. Relax and don’t use excessive force. Move smoothly. Mashiro uses all her strength to absorb everything she can learn from Rika. The training scene reveals how passionate Mashiro is, and that she is actually a hard worker. I’m quickly becoming a fan of Mashiro!
Through the course of the special training sessions, Mashiro and Rika are quickly getting closer. The burgeoning of their relationship is illustrated very well. After the one week is over, Mashiro and Rika form the “first-year alliance” which hardens their relationship despite that they go to different schools. The two girls are very cute.
After the week of special training, Mashiro has mastered the basics of playing FC. This time, she evaluates herself as to what other skills she needs to work on, in order to win a match. She assumes herself as a fighter type, but does that really suit her? She keeps seeking an answer.
Eventually she comes to determine that she should convert her play style to the speeder style, which fits her petite physique very well. Mashiro finally finds her own play style. It’s inspiring to watch her working really hard to find herself an answer!
I have a feeling that Mashiro will improve even further to become a powerful player.
So whose improvement will we see next? I’m looking forward to the next episode!
