I would say “shocking” is a good word to describe this anime. I am shocked by how good the quality is for merely just an anime. Plus the scenarios are pretty interesting too! Without further ado, I would like to introduce you to this episode’s highlights.
Summary of Episode 1
Ajin――humans that never die
Its existence was discovered 17 years ago in Africa and after that 46 of Ajins were discovered throughout the entire world. 2 of those 46 are in Japan. Kei Nagai is a high school student that aims to get into the pharmacy department. He is aiming for success. He is strict about himself and has a serious attitude towards everything. He also gets along with his classmates pretty well. One day he had a class on Ajin, and took interest in the experimental video. In this video he sees a black mysterious creature that he once saw when he was a kid….
1st Highlight The anime’s high quality
There is also a movie version to this anime, and the quality of the series is no way inferior to the quality of the movie!
“Ajin” is a 3DCG animation but without the “fake” and “cheap” feeling of what CG illustrations normally have. The way they drew the characters, realistic looking shadows mixed nicely with Japanese animation; the anime has a different sense of beauty than other animes have. Not to mention the BGM and the plot are both amazing and have doubled or even tripled the watching experience of this anime.
I think the artwork is just awesome!
2nd Highlight Difference to the movie
The anime is different to the movie in a sense that the anime gives a deeper view of the inner emotions of the characters. The character I enjoy the most is Kei. Kei doesn’t really show a lot of emotions maybe because he is one of the top students. However, after he turns into an Ajin, so much happenes to him. How will the relation between him and his parents and friends change? How will Kei face the changes? I am really looking forward to see a more deailed picture of Kei’s emotions towards this sudden change!
Plus the anime is the takes off where the movie ended, what makes me look forwarded to the upcoming episodes even more.
3rd Highlight The voicing of the ending song
Mamoru Miyano, who plays the voice of Kei in the ending part, is well known for his voice. He has a sexy voice that a lot of people like. That is why I really like listening to the ending song! You guys should really try the anime “Ajin”!
