“Every single hero dies of karoushi.” A young man who hates heroes starts a “promised scenario” now――
The Katvarna Empire is at war with the neighboring Republic of Kioka. In the corner of the empire, a young man was about to get involved in the chaos of the war. Ikta Solork is a lazy, woman-admiring war-hater, and was considered to be the last person to be a soldier.
He was taking the High Grade Military Officer Exam with his childhood friend, Yatorishino Igsem, when he met the five friends on the pickup ship to the secondary exam: Haroma Becker from a nurses’ school, Matthew Tetdrich of a prestigious ex-military clique family, and Torway Remion of another prestigious family, one of the big three loyalty houses just like Yatori’s.
On the way to their secondary exam while they were enjoying their time together, the ship suddenly went aground. The five tried to evacuate with the others… but just then they saw a girl falling into the ocean. Ikta jumped into the fury of the ocean without hesitation and grabbed her little hand in the water.
It was the Year 905 of the Empirical Era that had the first encounter with the man called a resourceful general of “Always lazy, Always wins” and with the woman called the last queen of the empire. It was also the prologue to the promised “lost battle” scenario.
17 years old. Lazy and admires women. His war tactics and strategies outclass others and later receives an appellation of “a resourceful general of Always-lazy, Always-wins”. He is an apprentice of Professor Anarai Kahn who advocates the concept of “science” and follows his footsteps to have a unique philosophy. He and Yatori know each other for long and have built a thorough relationship of trust.
17 years old. The head and the first daughter of an ex-military clique family, the Igsem family, one of “the big three loyalty houses”. She is nicknamed Yatori. She has pledged her absolute loyalty to the imperial house to the point of awe-inspiring. Her family is known to be “Unsheathed Igsem” for generations, and she herself takes pride in her extreme strength with her double-sword fighting skills. She knows Ikta for long and supports him. She also knows his talents better than anyone else and has a high opinion of him.
