The episode picks up after BB’s escape from the Kingdom. Blood is talking to Seigi from within Seigi’s subconscious and reminds him that he is now carrying the hopes of many people. He tells Seigi that he must be the one to change the fate of the world with his own hands.
Fast forward a year after Seigi has relived Blood’s memories. Seigi, Izzy, Tom, and Tamaki are living in a secluded hideout honing their battle skills. Izzy is getting by with a mechanical arm after Princess Aryabhata took her real one and Seigi has grown taller and resolved to get revenge on the Princess for murdering Touko. The crew is getting stronger under Wiseman’s orders by engaging each other in mock battles to pass the time. Seigi has become overwhelmingly better in his battle tactics, claiming that he can just “see” what he needs to do to counteract attacks.
After their mock battle is concluded, the crew arrives back to their home to find it has been destroyed by large spikes protruding through every surface area. Izzy receives a call warning her that the Kingdom may know where they are hiding out, which Izzy confirms as she finds a video letter that has been left behind by the Kingdom. The crew takes the letter back to Wiseman to watch together. Princess Aryabhata pops up on the screen at the beach. She claims she is going to the third ruins located at the Grand Canyon and challenges Seigi to meet her there so he can get his revenge. Princess Aryabhata still needs Seigi as a final key since he has swallowed up Blood. Before she ends her video, she shows that she has Lisa hostage, giving the team no choice but to go and save her. Wiseman warns the crew to be careful and that the Princess cannot by any means capture or kill Seigi. Wiseman explains that he is creating a virus to implant in Seigi’s tattoo that will activate once the Princess tries to awaken all the ruins. Thus thwarting her attempts at world domination.
The episode jumps onto the battle scene where Colonel Sanders has set up a defensive front to ward off the Kingdom’s assault on the ruins at the Grand Canyon. Lahka, a new Brahmin who utilizes shrinkage and growth, and surprisingly Lisa head the match against Seigi, Tom, Izzy, and Tamaki. Seigi and Tom split from the group to confront Princess Aryabhata and Izzy and Tamaki hang behind to face the Brahmin.
Tamaki engages the newest Brahmin, and is on a vendetta for victory. He is engaged to a cosplayer back home and has sworn to return to her. Furthermore, we find out from Lahka that Iltutmish was discovered at the ruins of the Grand Canyon, where her parents were murdered by the tattoo forces. Iltutmish was the catalyst for the tattoo craze in America. This information seems to rile Izzy up as she stands her ground against him and Lisa and the episode comes to a close.
Sexuality- Tom and Tamaki are watching a hentai called “Slutty Pink Tentacle Bondage” when Seigi and Izzy return home. The two men later go to a con featuring the female character from the hentai in cosplay attire. Additionally, within Princess Aryabhata’s video at the beach, we see the Princess has dressed Iltutmish in a bikini of her choice, which happens to be a piece of rope just barely covering Iltutmish’s essentials. Finally, we see with the new Brahmin, her seal is located right on her pelvic bone and triggered by a penetrating needle.
Revenge- Seigi has spent the entire year gearing up to defeat Princess Aryabhata. He gets mad when Wiseman tells him that he cannot go to save Lisa and refuses to keep running away. He swears to get revenge for Touko’s murder.
This week’s episode was pretty good. We see a lot of progression with Seigi. He has grown not only physically but mentally too. He has become a lot more hardened in his outlook on life. Whereas Blood has focused his entire life on eliminating tattoos, Seigi understands this goal but has altered it to fit his own sense of justice. For Seigi, justice is to defeat Princess Aryahbata to avenge Touko. I like this because it’s a more selfish goal. It feels more realistic to be selfish than to be the hero that is typically selfless and trying to save the world for the better good. Seigi wants to help eliminate tattoos, but he was not as driven to do so until he suffered serious losses. We also get a random tidbit about Iltutmish’s background. The more the series progresses the more we seem to learn about Iltutmish. Though she is a support character to Princess Aryabhata, she has almost an equal amount of screen time. It would appear that she too is a key character. I’m looking forward to next week’s episode to see if Seigi has developed any new skills with his tattoo.
