The town of Morio is a residency of a criminal who has a particularly vicious and gruesome crime record. The criminal’s name is Angelo. He manipulates people by using his special ability called “Stand.” A while ago he tried to rob a bank using the ability, but, unfortunately (or fortunately) Josue happened to be present at the bank robbery scene. He prevented Angelo’s plan and pissed him off, and that is where the previous story ended.
In this episode, Angelo launches a number of attacks one after another on Josuke and his family members. Josuke is of course frustrated, and things grew from worse to worst! Don’t miss the battles between Josuke and Angelo.
Now, let’s look at the episode 2.
Synopsis: Episode 2
I want to do a quick overview of Angelo before we step into the synopsis.
Angelo is dubbed as “the most disgusting criminal ever, in the Japanese crime history.”
He is a savage killer and jail breaker. When he was only twelve years old he committed his first murder. Since then, he spent most of his life in prison. In the last crime he committed, he raped and killed three boys and curved out their genital areas. I got to say that this character is rotten to bones.
Angelo can use the “Stand” as mentioned earlier, and his ability called “Aqua Necklace” enables him to remotely control his alter-ego, kind of like a puppet, in any form of liquid, like, say, mist, fog, or rain, His “Stand” ability allows him assimilate into liquid and invade the target’s body. In that way Angelo can either erode the host’s body to death, or, take over the host’s body and make it do whatever he wants.
Now then, let’s take a look on an outline.
Angelo is furious, he wants to have some form of redemption. He dresses up as a milk delivery person and approaches Josuke’s mother, Tomoko. Angelo’s objective is to hide his Stand in liquid milk, which will be eventually consumed by Josuke (or other members under the roof). Once the liquid goes inside Josuke’s body, Angelo can control him!
However, Tomoko points out that the milk bin’s cap is not completely sealed, which forces Angelo to retreat, to reform his plan.
He moves onto the next strategy. He notices a water service running near Josuke’s house. Angelo invades the house through the drinking water pipe.
At that time, in the house, Josuke was on the phone with Jotaro, who is worried about Angelo’s attack; he advices not to drink the tap water, avoid showers, even the bathroom.
At that precise moment, Josuke witnesses the Stand of Angelo going into in the mouth of Tomoko drinking coffee. In a split second of judgement Josuke stands behind Tomoko and stubs her with his “Stand” called Shining Diamond to capture Angelo’s Stand.
Josuke successfully captures Angelo’s Stand in the bottle. Josuke and Jotaro plan to meet at the house of Higashikata.
Angelo on the other hand, is troubled because his Stand is trapped in a bottle, so, obviously he needs to find a way to release his Stand. He notices that Josuke’s grandfather, Ryohei, is on the way home after a night duty. Ryohei is a police officer, and Angelo remembers that Ryohei had arrested him in the past. Then, a memory comes back to Angelo’s mind. Ryohei enjoys a glass of brandy every night after his work.
While Josuke is looking somewhere else, Angelo’s Stand pretends to be a liquid of brandy. Ryohei swallows it up. When Josuke realized what had happen, Ryohei is already down on the floor. Angelo’s Stand is out of the captivity at this point. Josuke engages in one on one battle with Angelo’s Stand, once again.
Josuke uses his favorite Shining Diamond, however, any physical attack to Angelo’s Stand is less effective than usual, as punching liquid doesn’t impact Angelo much. Angelo’s Stand quickly escapes the scene.
Josuke tries to revive Ryohei using his Shining Diamond, but, once someone’s life is lost, there is nothing to be done to bring back the dead.
Ryohei has dedicated his whole life to protect the city and its people. Josuke pledges that in place of his honorable grandfather Ryohei he will do whatever it takes to protect the town and his mother Tomoko.
After the funeral of his grandfather, Josuke arranges Tomoko to stay at one of the relatives’ house, while Josuke and Jotaro stay at Tomoko’s house to end the battle with Angelo for good.
They wait three days. Nothing happens. They start speculating what just Angelo is after and how he is planning to win.
They sky grows heavy with clouds, and soon it starts raining.
“Hold up. Is it raining?”
That’s right, Angelo has been waiting for the rain, because his plan is to assimilate to rain drops to invade the house.
This is what Angelo has planned: as soon as it starts raining, he uses his Stand to go inside Josuke’s house. Angelo has punched multiple holes on the roof of the house in advance, so that once it rains outside the house floor inside gets flooded with rain water. Angelo also arranges to boil water in the kitchen and bathrooms, in order to produce steam, which will fill the rooms and eventually the entire house. This way, Angelo’s Stand assimilates with shapeless vapor which is impossible to catch. If Jotaro or Josuke inhales the vapor, Angelo takes over their bodies and it’s game over.
Angelo has been tenaciously prepared for the last three days so that the rain provides him an invincible status. Now he takes the upper hand. He rules the house and skillfully and deliberately corners Josuke and Jotaro.
Josuke uses his Stand to smash the wall, to escape to the living room, thinking it’s free from the water invasion. But, Angelo has already set up a humidifier. The room is filled with steam. Angelo has already anticipated that Josuke and Jotaro will try to escape to this room. Angelo’s Stand assimilates with vapor, then invades Josuke’s body through his mouth.
So this is it? Josuke is going to die?
That moment, Josuke spits out a rubber glove – which he had swallowed up a while ago, and vois la, Josuke has successfully trapped Angelo’s Stand inside the glove! Josuke proves that he is more tactful than Angelo.
Soon, Josuke and Jotaro identify where Angelo is hiding. Josuke corners Angelo finally and smashes his Shining Diamond at Angelo, to amalgamate Angelo with a huge boulder. “Honor the dead, my grandpa, forever and ever in the town he lived!”
Angelo continues to exist in the world in the form of a giant rock. Since this incident, the Angelo-infused strange boulder becomes one of the Morio town’s favorite things to show to tourists, and even got a name, Angelo Rock.
How did you like the show?
I feel good that Josuke was able to avenge for his grandpa. The story continues to the third episode. Come back for more!
