Hello everyone. This week we get to see a big showdown being set up. Suzuko finally reaches out to Hanna and asks for help in understanding WIXOSS.

At first, Hanna was reluctant because she felt there was no real gain for her. That is until Suzuko offered to go stand in line at the high-volume bakery and get Hanna a cheese tart. Because, as most of us know, food is a surefire way to convince someone to say yes. Hanna asks Suzuko if she is preparing herself to fight Chinatsu. Suzuko tells her yes and that she has to win in order to protect both her own and Chinatsu’s memories of them being together. She promises to herself to make sure to stop Chinatsu from erasing her past.
On the other side of town, Shouhei and his LRIG discuss how he is beginning to lose memories of his old soccer team mates. Shouhei comes to a decision and seeks out Hanna and Suzuko in the local playground. Both girls regard him with alertness, thinking he has come for a battle. Shouhei, however, actually came with a proposition instead. He approaches Hanna and tells her he wants them to be partners. In his theory, the two of them would battle once a week and take turns on losing. That way they regain the same coin they lose over and over. Hanna, however, turns him down by pointing out the flaw in his plan. She tells him that the memories which are lost after a coin turns black are random. Each time it was their turn to lose and a coin faded black, another memory would be lost, causing a vicious cycle. Shouhei is back to the drawing board in defeating the system.
While all of this is going on, Chinatsu continues her work for the Book Maker. She is sent all over town to find selectors to battle and sign a contract for the Book Maker. Chinatsu has gone completely evil. She will do anything to get her way with her prey. She’ll lie to them and say she’ll let them win, seduce them, even threaten them. Whatever it takes to make them sign her contract, she will do. She feels no sympathy for any of her opponents, and is above all, cutthroat. Rio is doing the same thing for the Book Maker, as she is also going around challenging selectors for the sake of contracting. In fact, she finds the blonde guy with the sister complex from the previous episodes, challenges him and wins.
Later, Chinatsu runs into Shouhei and he reveals to her his failed idea. Chinatsu begins seducing Shouhei and gets him to finally battle. Once the two engage in battle, Chinatsu coaxes him into attacking her on the premise that she will let him win because he’s so important to her. In all reality, Chinatsu set him up for a devious trap, and then goes hard. She completely annihilate his LRIG, leaving him with only one coin and forcing him to sign the contract for the Book Maker.
Evil: The only real prevalent theme in this episode is Chinatsu’s crossing over to the dark side. She is willing to do anything to carry out her goals. She ultimately believes that the less emotional attachments she has, the stronger she will be. But in that way, she is also slowly losing her humanity. It’s like she’s letting her LRIG take over whether she wins or not because she is unburdening herself from the human memories that make her a unique person.

I thought there was some great irony in this episode. The set up with Rio (the little girl without a mommy) against the blonde (who has a sister complex due to his lost younger sister) was perfect. The blonde’s LRIG literally started yelling warnings at him to not have a breakdown against Rio because she’s a little girl. She even calls him a ‘sister lover,’ a word Rio asks her LRIG the definition for. Her LRIG tells her those aren’t words a little girl should say and also he is the definition of ‘sister lover.’ I thought that was a beautiful jab and quite comical.
I am also happy that Suzuko is finally getting serious and buckling down to learn the mechanics of WIXOSS. Hanna even compliments her for understanding how combo cards work so quickly. Hanna is going to need to teach Suzuko everything she knows if Suzuko is going to defeat Chinatsu. Presently, Chinatsu is so strong, to the point she can afford to throw away matches to get people to sign contracts, and then win the coins back later at her own leisure. I would like to see if there are any rare and special WIXOSS cards for LRIGS that Suzuko can get to defeat Chinatsu. Although, this game is confusing enough without any extra specialty card play.
